Apollo's Story

Meet Apollo — a soulful Puggle with a heart that doesn’t match his “senior” label.

Apollo was originally surrendered at “18 years old,” but after evaluation by two veterinarians, he’s believed to be closer to 10 — and it shows in the best way. Since arriving in rescue, he’s been quietly thriving. He came in a bit overweight and in need of some TLC, but after some care (and a well-deserved spa day), Apollo is feeling better, moving easier, and looking pretty handsome these days.

He’s already slimming down and has rediscovered his love for walks. Apollo enjoys getting out to explore at a relaxed pace, but he’s just as happy curling up for a long, cozy nap. His lifestyle is beautifully simple: a little movement, a lot of comfort, and plenty of time near his people.

Apollo does have a collapsed trachea, which can cause occasional coughing, but it’s manageable with affordable medication and doesn’t stop him from enjoying his daily routine. He handles stairs well, gets around comfortably, and has a nice, steady rhythm between activity and rest.

At home, Apollo is an absolute gem. He’s fully potty trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and brings a calm, comforting presence to the household. While he does fine with other dogs, he’s truly a people dog at heart — happiest when he’s close to his humans, soaking up love and companionship.

Apollo isn’t looking for a busy or chaotic home. He’s looking for someone who appreciates the quiet kind of love — the kind that shows up in slow walks, warm naps, and a loyal companion always by your side.

If you’re searching for an easygoing, affectionate dog who will bring warmth and steadiness to your home, Apollo might just be your perfect match.

If interested in adopting Apollo, fill out an application via the link below! If you already have an application on file, reach out to Rachel at adoptpugs@hotmail.com.

Our rescue is located in Michigan, but we have fosters in surrounding states as well. Apollo is being fostered in Chicago. We do adopt out of state and work with adopters to organize transportation.
