Apollo's Story

Look at this speckle-tacularly handsome boy!

Spend your days (and nights) with an attractive young man who'll charm you with loving companionship and keep you feeling vital and active. Ok, so he's actually a dog, but we promise you won't lack for company.

Apollo is confident and athletic, and he is as friendly as they come. He is a 1-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Husky mix who weighs 40 svelte pounds.

When he's outside, Apollo wants to get moving. He's easy to walk with you on the leash, and he's all about the good smells, the neighborly folks and the peppy dog buddies. He could also make a terrific running partner, if you'd like to speed it up a little. Either way, he hopes that walking or exercise can happen daily. Once he comes inside, he's mellow and attentive and ready to hang with his people or another dog(s) while they relax. He'll probably even catch a snoooooze himself, and he prefers a 4-legged and 2-legged snuggling pal while he sleeps. At night, he slumbers in bed with his people.

Apollo is a quick learner, and he already boasts a solid list of commands he knows, like sit, shake, down, and stay. He could be up for some higher-level training like agility work or other advanced commands, if you'd like to do that with him. Otherwise, bring out the toys, and he'll have a grand time with squeaky toys and some bones. He enjoys a puzzle or a filled Kong as well.

He is good with kids and gets along great with other dogs, so everyone is welcome. He'd love to have a dog sibling or other local canine playmate to romp with, but that's not a requirement. He is house-trained and crate-trained.

He can climb a chain-link fence, so he'll need a privacy fence or a secure tether wherever he lives.

Apollo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175 - we know you'll find true love with this guy! Apply to adopt him today. Meet and greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Pawsitive Tails's Adoption Policy
Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone. All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster homes with both the human and furry members of our families. Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application. We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer. &nbs
