Antonia's Story
Antonia recently had a sleepover outside of the shelter! Here’s what her Doggie Sleepover revealed: 🐾
‘Antonia likes to take things at her own pace in a new environment. She loves to sunbathe, nap on a good cushion and leading the way on walks. She did a great job on her evening walk! 10/10⭐️⭐️’
Her foster showed her the kindness of going at her pace. Antonia was a bit shy & unsure leaving the shelter. This can be the case with dogs when they are first adopted. The greatest gift you can give a new companion is is go slow & lead them gently as they get acclimated to their new environment & the loving people who gave them the second chance they were waiting for.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.

All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).

We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.

If you have any questions, please email caccpetfinder@gmail.com
A310319
