Meet Annie the Smiler
Well, everyone... meet Annie the Smiler. She's that dog that chooses to see the glass as half full. Annie had a rough start to her short life but she is a "smiler". If you want to see Annie's precious smile, just take a moment to view her video with one of our other rescued dogs, Mama Merry. It's just the cutest thing and it was what prompted us to take her into our rescue and find her a loving home.
Annie was brought into the shelter with wire wrapped around her legs. She had to go to the vet immediately but she is all good now. If only she could tell her tale. On second thought, maybe we don't' really want to know. But, Annie still chooses to smile.
At any rate, this precious baby girl is estimated to be just about a year old and she weighs 40 lbs. She loves people and other dogs and she is just all wiggles and smiles when she greets anyone. Annie does well around cats. They don't seem to phase her. Of course, caution should always be taken when introducing any new dog to resident cats. Annie is spending time in a foster home while she awaits transport to PA on July 17th. Foster mom says that she readily goes into her crate and will even go in on her own to relax at times. Annie is a medium energy dog from what we see so far. She has learned how to use a doggie door so she is smart and catches on to things quickly. Annie would love a home with a few dogs her own age and energy level to play with. She does like to chew things so whoever adopts Annie has to be sure to pick shoes, toys, etc. up off the floor or she will claim them as her own. Understandable since she is still quite a puppy.
This beautiful, happy girl is already spayed and micro-chipped. She is also up-to-date with vaccinations and she is on preventatives. Annie acquired heart-worm disease at a very young age and has already been treated for such. She will be well past the "limited activity" part of her recovery by the time she gets here to us. Annie's suggested adoption donation is $325 in order to help to recover some of the rescue's ongoing vet bills. If you would like to give Annie a foster, or a permanent, home when she arrives on July 17th, please visit our rescue website at OneLifeToLiveRescue.com and complete the online application. A rescue volunteer will then be touch to answer any questions that you might have and to discuss our "Foster-to-Adopt" option with you. Thank you so much for considering a rescued, smiling, Mixed-Breed dog!!
Sweet, wonderful Annie the Smiler was adopted right off of transport today. She will now be spending the "happily-ever-after" part of her life in Afton, NY!!
