Annie- #51112's Story
If you are looking for a fun dog, hiking partner, playmate for the backyard and a cuddler on top of that, meet Annie (#51112). We know a lot about Annie. Please read about her home needs:

Annie is a beautiful, tall, 6 year old, spayed female, mixed breed who weighs 70lbs. We think she may have German Shepherd and some type of sighthound, like a Greyhound. She loves to run. Annie is one of the smartest dogs we know and she can learn anything. This means you need to be 2 steps ahead of her if there are small animals outside because she has a high prey drive to chase little critters. You also need a strong and tight grip on her leash. No flexi leashes for Annie. She knows sit, down, wait, stay, paw and get your ball. She would do best in a home with a confident dog savvy owner who establishes this training and who has experience with her behaviors. She can be willful at times. Annie has been around many dogs here, however they need to be matched appropriately. Annie will not hesitate to correct another dog who is too much too soon or a puppy who is too rough. She likes to be in charge, so the other dog needs to be submissive to her. Once they get used to each other's playstyles, Annie loves to run and play in the yard. Annie would do best in an adult home or a home with older children who understand how to be respectful in their interactions with her. If you have a dog at home, you would bring them in to meet Annie to make sure they get along.

Feel free to call our Adoption Coordinator, Jessica, if you have any questions or would like to see if Annie would be a good match for your home. You can visit this pet during our Animal Viewing Hours below. Applications are accepted in person after you meet them.
