Annie's ideal placement may be as the guardian of a well-fenced flock of sheep, or goats. She's big, beautiful, smart, extremely sweet-natured, and she has a brilliant future - possibly doing what Anatolians have been bred for thousands of years to do. I have fostered her for a couple of months, and she has shown ZERO interest in interacting with my horses in any way - doesn't want to chase them, or herd them, or play with them although she is quite playful and energetic with my own dogs. She never barks unless there is a predator near by. Annie has expanded her territory to include nearby neighbors if the gate is left open, although she does not roam. She's highly intelligent and extremely sweet but - like all guardian breeds - she is bred to work alone, making decisions autonomously, without direction from anyone. She is simply not hard-wired for obedience, but rather for relying on her own instincts. Annie's thing is protection. She's very friendly, loves people not ever going to bite anyone.

Annie is now being fostered by Willie, the man whose property she gravitated to and took a liking to his lifestyle. There she acts like a house pet, sleeping in the house at night, playing outside during the day, getting lots of love and attention. His description of Annie is that she's enthusiastic, playful, very loving and sweet, great with other dogs. While she is great with other dogs, she can have a rough and tumble play style so may be too much for older or smaller dogs.

Annie is one year old, about 80 lbs, spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. She may need a home where she's able to help with protecting someone's livestock. We pulled her from the kill list of a Central Valley shelter and we're so glad we did. She's a sweet, sweet girl and a wonderful guardian breed.

If you are interested in meeting Annie click the following link. https://form.jotform.com/221116924195050.
