(and still growing!)<br/><br/>Breed: Bullmastiff Mix<br/><br/>Why You’ll Fall in Love with Angus:<br/><br/>Low-Maintenance Grooming & Vibe: He’s low-shedding, low-drool, and a surprisingly quiet guy who rarely barks.<br/><br/>Brave & Adaptable: Thunderstorms and loud noises don't bother him at all. He's flexible with new schedules, isn't a picky eater, and has zero stomach sensitivities!<br/><br/>Easy Hygiene: Bath time and nail trims are a total breeze with him.<br/><br/>Affectionate Companion: He loves pets, enjoys dog-friendly buddies his own size, and happily settles in for couch-potato cuddle time when invited up.<br/><br/>Smart & Trained Skills Already Under His Belt:<br/>Angus is a quick learner who has already mastered some fantastic house manners:<br/><br/>Commands: Knows "Sit" (verbal and palm-up hand signal).<br/><br/>Impulse Control: Waits patiently for his release cue before eating his food or going through open doors. Sits nicely to be harnessed/leashed.<br/><br/>Boundaries: Sleeps on his own dog bed and only comes up on the couch when explicitly invited!<br/><br/>Car & House Skills: Mostly house-trained, crate-trained, rides great in the car, and can wait calmly alone in the vehicle for short errands (up to 3 minutes).<br/><br/>Skills in Progress (The Big Puppy Phase!):<br/><br/>Angus is a giant toddler in a 75 lb+ body, so he needs an owner committed to continuing his routine:<br/><br/>Leash Walking: He knows how to walk on a leash, but because he's a strong boy, he will pull hard if he sees something exciting to chase or smell. He needs an owner who can handle his strength while he finishes leash training.<br/><br/>Mouth & Paws: He is still learning not to use his mouth during play or jump up with his big paws, and he needs gentle reminders about personal space and not grabbing shoes.<br/><br/>Recall & Stay: Working on a solid "Come" and "Stay" command.<br/><br/>Kids & Cats: Due to his size and bouncy puppy energy, he needs a cat-free home with an active family and older kids who won't be easily knocked over.<br/><br/>Health & Medical:<br/>Angus is healthy, happy, and 100% ready to head home:<br/><br/>Neutered male<br/><br/>Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines (including Rabies and Bordetella)<br/><br/>Heartworm negative<br/><br/>Microchipped<br/><br/>Current on flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite preventatives<br/><br/>Ideal Home:<br/><br/>Angus is looking for an experienced big-dog owner or active family with a securely fenced yard. We work to rehabilitate and rehome unwanted cats and dogs in Stephenville and surrounding towns. We have recently expanded our scope to include Hamilton County, TX and are currently working with the City of Hamilton and the Hico Police Department to find loving foster and permanent homes for dogs that have been abandoned and have ended up in the Hamilton Pound or the Hico Animal Shelter. <br/><br/> Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S.)'s mission is to sponsor low cost spay/neuter and wellness exams, provide community education and provide food and supplies to those in need. We also do our best to find loving homes for abandoned, neglected, or abused animals. Our animals are vaccinated and on preventatives.
