Andy's Story

Meet Andy!

If you’re looking for a tiny best friend who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Andy may be your perfect match.

Andy is a 2-year-old Yorkie weighing only about 5 pounds, but what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in devotion. When he first meets new people, he can be a little shy and may need a few days to settle in. But once he realizes he’s safe, his true personality shines through—and it’s absolutely adorable.

Andy quickly becomes a world-class lap dog. In fact, if you sit down, don’t be surprised if he immediately claims a spot in your lap! He forms a strong bond with his person and loves being close at all times. He’s the definition of a little shadow, happily following his favorite human from room to room just to be near them.

While he occasionally enjoys playing with toys, Andy’s favorite activities involve spending time with his people—and enjoying treats! This little guy absolutely loves treats and is always happy when a tasty snack comes his way. He is very well-behaved, enjoys the comforts of home, and would much rather curl up in bed with his person than sleep alone. He will sleep in a kennel if needed, but snuggling with his human is definitely his first choice.

Andy is potty trained in his foster home and has been a wonderful houseguest. He gets along well with both dogs and cats, although he’s more interested in peacefully coexisting than playing with them. He’s content to do his own thing as long as his people are nearby.

Because Andy feels most comfortable exploring a secure outdoor space, he would prefer a home with a fenced yard rather than one that relies solely on leash walks. A quiet home where he can build confidence and form a close bond with his family would be ideal.

If you’re ready for a loyal little companion who will shower you with affection, follow you everywhere, and happily accept treats along the way, Andy is waiting to meet you.

Andy is available for adoption through Cause for Paws Rescue.

🐾❤️ Tiny in size, huge in love—that’s Andy.

Cause For Paws's Adoption Policy
In order to encourage folks to rescue homeless Orphans, we try to make the rescue experience as non-invasive and pleasant as possible. First, an application is completed prior to meeting any of our orphans. Since we do not have a shelter, it’s important to be able to pre-qualify folks that will be making appointments with fosters, to meet any of our orphans. We do a vet check, to verify all current or previous dogs are up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing, heartworm prevention, and are either spayed or neutered. We may also contact references listed on the application when there is no previous vet information, or where more information is needed. We’ll then contact you to arrange a home visit, which is merely an opportunity to ask and answer any questions regarding our process. Since most of our orphans have already been in a situation that was not right for them, we want to do whatever it takes to allow them to succeed. It is not our intent to set a dog or a family up for failure.
