Anabel

Anabel is a playful, snuggly little girl with so much sass and personality! She especially loves squeaky toys and has the funniest resting bully face that makes it seem like she is constantly judging your choices. <br/><br/>Anabel has been through so much in the last two years.  With kind women, she is affectionate, playful and snuggly.  But, right now, Anabel is very guarded around men due to the abuse she suffered at the hands of an unkind man who was trying to breed her. In her foster home, she has been able to have a few positive experiences around male figures who are willing to be calm, patient, and take things slow.<br/><br/>Having been through this traumatic experience, Anabel will not try to introduce too many new people at one time.   She is becoming less fearful seeing men when out and about, but only with consistent and proactive positive reinforcement to help her learn to associate male figures with good things.  She would do best in an adult female only home or a home with a man who understands he will need to observe her body language and move at her pace to win her over.  And although she enjoys the company of kids when out and about, we feel it's best to place her in a home without kids, given that it can be challenging for young friends or extended family to respect Anabel's boundaries the way her own family does.
