Amora - APPS CLOSED Pit Bull Terrier Mix Warrenville, IL

Amora is an adorable 13-week-old pittie mix who was surrendered to CACC with a fractured leg. Luckily, after four weeks of keeping it wrapped and keeping her as calm as possible, it has healed beautifully. Now she happily frolics around as if nothing ever happened. She is an energetic and lively puppy who is finally growing into her adorable floppy ears. Her coat is a gorgeous chocolate brown with a small white patch on her chest and one on her neck.

She has adjusted well to her foster home, primarily with the help of the resident dogs showing her the way. When it’s time for her foster family to leave the home or go to bed, she follows the crowd and goes into her crate, waits for her biscuit reward, then lays down to wait for everyone to return.

She likes to do whatever the other dogs are doing and, now that she can go outside and play, she is loving her time romping around the yard with the big dogs. We think she would do great as a second dog with an older dog to continue to show her the ropes. She is usually indifferent to the cats unless they are running, which Amora takes as an invitation to play tag! However, considering that she is still a puppy, she is respectful and understands if she pushes too hard, one of the resident kitties will give her a swat and a hiss and she will back off.

Amora is in the fun teething phase of puppyhood where she likes to chew and chew and chew. She usually sticks with antlers, rawhide, or chew toys, but if she manages to get something she shouldn’t have, she gives it up easily, and is redirected to a suitable toy with lots of praise. She’s not only cute but is also one smart cookie! She’s easy to handle and listens well.

Amora is a complete sweetheart of a pup! Since the snow and her cast restrictions kept her inside for a while, she is now learning to go potty outside and is making progress. She is happy, affectionate, playful and just loves to be the center of attention! If you think you can give her that, you will be rewarded with endless love from a loyal girl!
