7-month-old female Chiweenie, about 8 pounds. She is sister to Almond and Acorn. Amara is likely their mother. Amelia is a little timid at first but quickly warms up. She gets along well with our other dogs but occasionally gets protective with her food or people. She’s fairly active outside but I could see her doing well in in a big yard with a fence. She seems to enjoy riding in the car. She does well with older respectful children and does fine with cats. She is just a puppy, so she will need all the things a puppy needs: house training, socialization, leash walking and obedience training.

Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
