Ali's Story

MEET ALI

Ali is a beautiful 6-year-old, 42-pound Blue Merle sweetheart with soulful blue eyes that are sure to steal your heart.

Ali came to us as an owner surrender from Mississippi due to her previous owners health issues. After her entire world was turned upside down, she understandably struggled with all the changes and became very shut down at the shelter. It was clear Ali shared a strong bond with her former owner and was confused and overwhelmed by everything happening around her. Thankfully, she was able to spend time with a temporary foster before making her way to her ARMA foster home.

Ali is a low- to medium-energy girl who enjoys sniffing around the yard and occasionally trotting or running with her foster siblings. More than anything, she loves being close to her people. Her favorite place is right next to you on the couch, and shell happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company.

Ali can be shy when meeting new people and visiting unfamiliar places, so she will need a patient, understanding family committed to helping build her confidence. She does seem to have a slight preference for women, but she's perfectly happy sharing the couch and soaking up pets from her foster dad as well.

Ali is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. Despite everything she's been through, she is a peaceful passenger in the car and a perfect though understandably nervous lady at the vet. She is house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash.

Ali would do well either as an only dog where she can soak up all the love and attention, or in a home with other dogs as long as there are no expectations for her to be an active playmate right away. She's still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place and is continuing to come out of her shell.

If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion who simply wants to be by your side, Ali may be the perfect addition to your family.

ARMA approved adopters please reach out to your volunteer representative.
