Alfred's Story

Alfred
Male
Pitbull
60lbs
5 yo

He showed up at Chicago Animal Care & Control like an old soul who had simply wandered in from another life.

Quiet. Observant. Those introverted, soulful puppy eyes that seemed to hold a whole story without saying a word. It didn’t take long before he won the hearts of the volunteers — the ones who see thousands of dogs and still know when one is special.

He’s five years old, about 60 pounds of stout, delicious goodness. The kind of dog who doesn’t need chaos or constant activity to feel fulfilled. What he wants is simple and beautiful: a gentle, consistent routine. A home where mornings start slow, workdays pass peacefully, sunshine spills onto the couch, and afternoons end with joyful “welcome home” celebrations and cuddles.

His body shows signs of a hard life, but his heart? His heart is wide open. All he wants is to be someone’s steady companion, the quiet wings beside you as you move through life’s adventures together.

Not the loudest dog in the room.

Just the kind you build a life with.

Applications found on our website: mcprescue.org

1) When can I meet this dog?
MCP receives a high volume of inquiries.
