Alfred's Story

Looking for a happy-go-lucky dog with a gentle nature who is easy to live with? Alfred is a distinguished senior guy who is ready to be your well mannered new house companion. We rescued Alfred from a home in California with 10 other dogs. His owner was suffering from dementia and could no longer properly care for the dogs and we have been working to find loving new homes for each of the dogs from this home.

- Likely a Labrador Retriever mix

- 80 pounds but needs to lose 10 pounds and is shedding the weight with simple portion control and a walk each day.

- Estimated to be 10 years old

- Excellent with all people and is a sponge for attention

- Has been perfect with other dogs and lived with both large and small dogs of both sexes without issue.

- Good with cats and currently fostered with a cat and is polite.

- Lower energy but has his happy bursts of energy.

- Needs a home without a lot of stairs as he does struggle with more than a few stairs. This may improve with him losing the extra weight he is carrying.

- Potty trained

- Could be happy with just a walk a day for his exercise needs.

Alfred is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
