He is observant and curious, learns quickly, and enjoys engaging with the world around him. He completed puppy training in South Korea and is comfortable in city environments including cafés, public spaces, and new settings.

While Alfie enjoys activity and learning, he is not “on” all the time. He knows how to relax, nap, chew quietly, and observe calmly once his needs are met. His higher energy shows mainly outdoors, while indoors he is settled, gentle, and easy to live with.

🧘 Balanced Energy & Ability to Settle
Alfie loves walks, playtime, training, and social outings—but he also has a healthy off-switch. After activity, he settles easily, naps, chews on a toy, or rests nearby without demanding constant attention. He is not frantic or hyper indoors and does not require nonstop engagement to be content.

🚶 Exercise & Enrichment Needs
Alfie does best with a minimum of three walks per day (15+ minutes each), and he is happiest with additional activity.
He loves dog parks, daycare, playgroups, and social play with friendly dogs.

He also enjoys:
• Treat puzzles and enrichment toys
• Chews (antler, coffee wood)
• Training sessions and learning new skills

🎓 Daily Life & Training
• Potty trained (fully outdoor)
• Leash walking: walks nicely and enjoys all weather
• Alone time: may vocalize briefly when left, then settles; monitoring shows calm behavior with toys or resting
• Indoor behavior: generally quiet with occasional alert or excitement barking
• Car rides: travels in a crate or with a blanket; may drool if fed right before travel

👨‍👩‍👧 With People & Children
• Bonds quickly with calm, kind people
• Loves affection, pets, and snuggling (often under the comforter with his nose out)
• Does well with respectful older children
• Sensitive to sudden chasing or grabbing—benefits from thoughtful introductions

🐕 With Dogs & Cats
• Truly thrives with other dogs, especially social and balanced ones
• With smaller or shy dogs, light supervision helps ensure polite play
• With cats: curious and persistent, no prey drive, but eager play may stress cats
• A friendly resident dog or regular daycare/playgroup is ideal, but not required

🩺 Health & Care
Alfie is healthy with no known allergies.
• Preventatives: NexGard Spectra
• Diet: Blue Buffalo Chicken & Brown Rice with rotating toppers (Fresh Pet, We Feed Raw, bone broth)
• For situational anxiety (vet visits, travel), he may use Gabapentin or Trazodone as needed

📖 Rescue Story
Alfie was rescued from a rural high-kill shelter in South Korea, where he was scheduled for euthanasia on August 25, 2025. He arrived as a young puppy without a mother or siblings. Through foster care, training, and patience, he has grown into a confident, affectionate, and resilient dog ready for a forever family.

🏠 Ideal Home
Alfie thrives with adopters who can offer:
• Daily outdoor time and enrichment
• Structure, routine, and companionship
• Walks, hikes, training, play, daycare, or similar activities
• Calm, kind handling
• A resident dog (ideal but not required)

First-time adopters are welcome if they are open to guidance and committed to supporting his adjustment.

🦺 Safety Requirements
For newly adopted Korean rescue dogs, the following safety measures are required:
• Escape-proof harness
• Backup clip (harness to collar)
• GPS tracker (Fi or Tractive) with active subscription

💛 Why Alfie
Alfie is joyful, clever, affectionate, and emotionally balanced. He brings energy to adventures and calm to daily life. With the right mix of activity and structure, he becomes a deeply rewarding companion—often already snuggled under the blanket before you get there.

If you’re looking for a smart, social, outdoors-loving dog who also knows how to relax, Alfie may be your match.
Submit an application to begin the process.
