Alex's Story

2.5 years old
14 pounds
Special need: Hind end paralysis from being hit by car prior to rescue

Alex appears to be the sweetest 2.5 yr-old Shih Tzu in the world! He loves all people and all dogs and gets really excited when it's time to socialize. He gets along great with his foster dog sisters and even his foster cat sister.
Unfortunately, Alex was hit by a car last December and ended up at the shelter with permanent injuries to his spine and causing hind end paralysis. He has a wheelchair he uses when outdoors and loves to chase other dogs (the bigger the better!) around the dog park. When indoors, he powers himself around using his front legs. He's incontinent due to injuries he sustained, which can be tricky, but his foster mom usually has him in diapers and a drag bag to help contain his indoor accidents.
He always wants to be near his "person" and loves to give kisses! He's such a loveable dog and he deserves an amazing forever home!
