Albus with the amber eyes is looking for his furever family! This handsome boy is constantly getting compliments on his good looks, and he soaks up the attention like a sponge! He adores affection and gets along with everyone he meets. He has a lot of exposure to new people, including little kids, coming into the house or seeing him in the driveway, and he is completely accepting of them, inviting them over without the faintest peep. In fact, he’s only ever barked a few times at his foster home, and it’s believed that he was warning the coyotes to steer clear of his property. Mostly, Albus is a laid-back guy who enjoys lounging outside to watch over the neighborhood, and going on his daily walks (he walks well on leash!). Car rides are also AWESOME, so if you’re looking for a travel buddy, he’s quick to volunteer! He is crate trained, non-destructive, doesn’t dig but to take a few swings at covering his business, and is good with brushing. His dislikes include nail trims (which are annoying but tolerable), and hardwood floors, as he doesn’t have great traction on them. He gets along with all dogs and would likely enjoy having a doggie companion, or people who are home more often than not, as he prefers being in the company of others. Albus is a gentle, loving soul who deserves all the happiness in the world!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
