Aggie's Story

Meet Aggie! A Texas Sweetheart Looking for Her Happily Ever After

Somewhere along a highway outside Houston, a sweet silver/grey dog found herself in a situation no dog should ever have to face. Alone, uncertain, and with no idea where she belonged.

Was Aggie dumped? Did someone abandon this sweet girl? We may never know her whole story, but we do know one thing: Whoever ends up adopting Aggie is going to wonder how they ever got so lucky.

Aggie is approximately 1–2 years old, weighs about 47 pounds, and is quite possibly one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet.

She's a tiny bit shy at first, but don't let that fool you. Underneath that cautious introduction is a certified sweetheart with a serious talent for giving kisses. Once she decides you're her friend, prepare to be loved!

And Aggie has plenty of friends! She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is always happy to have a playmate. She's currently sharing her foster home with a cat, and let's just say they're still negotiating the terms of their relationship. Progress is being made, but neither has signed the friendship agreement just yet.

Aggie is also one smart cookie. She's fully house-trained, crate-trained, and has excellent recall. Call her name and she actually comes! Imagine that! She also rides wonderfully in the car, making her an excellent candidate for road trips, errands, and adventures.

Like any self-respecting youngster, Aggie occasionally gets a case of the zoomies. One minute she's a perfectly respectable young lady, and the next she's racing around like someone just announced a clearance sale on dog treats. But here's the wonderful part: when the fun is over, Aggie settles down beautifully. She knows how to enjoy life without turning your house into a three-ring circus.

She's gentle and affectionate, and we think she'd do well with children, although her occasional bursts of excitement and jumping might be a bit much for the tiniest family members.

Now, we should probably discuss Aggie's one rather amusing personality quirk.

Aggie does not like getting wet.

Apparently, this Texas girl believes water belongs in a drinking bowl, not falling out of the sky or touching her beautiful fur. If she ends up with a family up north, we strongly recommend investing in a fashionable raincoat. Preferably something stylish. She's a lady, after all.

But beneath all that sweetness, silliness, and those adorable little quirks is a dog who has already experienced something heartbreaking. Somewhere along that Houston highway, Aggie was alone.

Today, she's safe. She's loved. She's learning that people can be kind and that good things happen when you trust again.

And now she needs one final thing.

A family of her very own.

A family who will laugh at her zoomies, welcome her kisses, appreciate her wonderful manners, and promise that she'll never have to wonder where she belongs again.

Because the best part of Aggie's story hasn't been written yet.

Maybe you're the one who's supposed to write it.

Come meet Aggie. She's got 47 pounds of love, a lifetime of kisses, and absolutely no interest in walking through puddles.

Aggie is just finishing up her heartworm treatment and is doing wonderfully. She will be fully cleared and ready for normal activity again within about two weeks. Her recovery has been smooth, and she’s expected to be completely fine.
________________________________________________________________________________
DETAILS:

Aggie is spayed, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands she has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with her new family.

NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET". Currently this dog is being fostered near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $395 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Please complete the application on this link:

https://forms.gle/FKSMBuoGTujaTkun8

Or email Sandra.ttr.tx@gmail.com for a link to the application.

Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet her.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.

We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
