Ace's Story

Ace is the kind of dog who quietly works his way into your heart and then never leaves.

In fact, he's already built quite the fan club among volunteers, kennel staff, and his foster family. The consensus seems to be unanimous: Ace is a really, really good boy.

While he can be a little reserved when meeting new people, it doesn't take long before his sweet personality starts to shine. Once he feels comfortable, Ace transforms into an affectionate, playful companion who loves giving kisses, soaking up cuddles, and staying close to his favorite people. He genuinely enjoys being part of whatever is going on and has a way of making himself impossible not to love.

Ace has settled beautifully into foster life and appears to be both potty trained and house trained. He has excellent manners around the home, is comfortable spending time in his crate, and is learning quickly. He already knows "sit," is working on "come," and has been practicing "lay down" as well. He's eager to engage with his people and enjoys having a job to do.

One of Ace's favorite activities is playing tug-of-war with rope toys. He also loves other dogs and is happiest when he has a canine friend to wrestle with, chase around the yard, or invite into a game of tug. He's especially fond of younger dogs who can match his playful energy.

When the fun is over, Ace is perfectly content to trade wrestling matches for cuddle sessions. You'll often find him rolling around happily in the grass, carrying around a favorite toy, or looking for affection from his humans.

On walks, Ace's enthusiasm for life occasionally gets the better of him. Squirrels and birds are very important business in his opinion, so he's still working on polishing his leash manners when distractions appear. Outside of that, he's proven to be a wonderful companion who is easy to have around.

Ace would thrive with a family willing to give him a little time to settle in and show his true personality. Once he does, you'll discover a loyal best friend with a playful spirit, a gentle heart, and an endless supply of affection.

Sweet, goofy, cuddly, and endlessly lovable, Ace is ready to find the people who will appreciate him as much as everyone else already does.

They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.

Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!

We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.

Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog.
If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
More questions?
