Abigail's Story
Meet Abigail — your family's new best friend.

Some dogs have a way of quietly stealing your heart, and Abigail is one of them.

This beautiful 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix is as gentle as they come. She has a calm, easygoing personality and is happiest simply being with her people. Whether it is a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, relaxing on the couch for movie night, or spending time in the backyard, Abigail is just happy to be included.

She is the kind of dog who fits beautifully into family life. Patient, affectionate, and incredibly loyal, Abigail has a peaceful presence that makes everyone around her feel at home. She loves belly rubs, enjoys her daily walks, and is always ready to soak up attention from the people she loves.

Abigail came to us after being surrendered to a Kentucky shelter when her previous family decided they no longer wanted her because she liked to dig. Digging is a normal behavior for many dogs—especially Great Pyrenees—and it certainly doesn't define the amazing dog she is. She deserves a family that sees her for the loving companion she truly is.

She is carrying a few extra pounds right now, weighing in at almost 90 pounds, but she's already making great progress with regular walks and a healthier routine.

If you're looking for a gentle, loyal family dog who will be your shadow, your couch buddy, and your best friend, Abigail is ready to fill that role. All she is missing is a family to call her own—and we think Abigail is going to make one very lucky household incredibly happy.

Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process. *** Email adoptadog@STAF.org for next steps! ***

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
We do request vet and personal references.
We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter
