588 (2026) Baxter's Story
Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Was originally adopted from CPR in early 2024 but was returned to our care after the adopter was unexpectedly relocated for work and was unable to bring the dog along.

From the foster: Baxter is an easygoing, happy-go-lucky dog with a wonderful temperament. Very little seems to faze him-I've only heard him bark a couple of times. While on leash, he barely pays attention to other dogs as we pass by. He's been fantastic with my 8-year-old daughter and has been friendly with every person he's met.

Baxter gets along well with our dogs, though he seems to prefer playing fetch with his humans over roughhousing with other dogs. He is fully potty trained and has only had one accident, which I believe was simply him marking territory while adjusting to a new environment.

He is a strong dog and can pull on the leash, so continued leash work would be beneficial. To help burn off his energy, I've been taking him to the dog park regularly. He absolutely loves fetch and would happily play all day if given the chance. After some good exercise he is happy to just nap on the couch.

Baxter hasn't chewed on a single thing in our home, so he appears to be past the puppy chewing stage. He would make a wonderful addition to any home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and opportunities - even if that means sitting in a chair while he repeatedly brings a ball back to you to throw to him.

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
