24-00090 GINO's Story

Gino is a 2 year old big boy with a heart of gold, desperately waiting for a stable and loving home. Gino hasn't had an easy start, being shuffled around without a consistent environment. He's currently experiencing shelter stress and losing weight, becoming more depressed the longer he stays.<br/>But step outside with Gino, and he transforms. He absolutely loves playing keep-away in the yard, becoming energized and incredibly happy when he has space to be himself. He thrives when he's outside and needs an owner who can provide him with plenty of opportunities for exercise outside the confines of a kennel. Gino might be a little reserved when you first meet him, which is understandable given his past. However, once he knows he can trust you, he has an abundance of love to give. He's at a perfect age for more training and will blossom into a confident, happy pup with someone who is patient, positive, and consistent. He seems to have had some basic training in his previous home as well. Gino has lived with other dogs, both big and small, and is a gentle soul who walks well on a leash. We're hoping to find Gino an owner familiar with his breed who can help him overcome his past and truly thrive. He desperately needs out of the shelter to become the confident, joyful dog he's meant to be. Please come meet him today at the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Tuesdays through Saturdays between 12-4 pm.
