Stella #19-320. Arrived 2/1/2018 at 3 years old.
Stella first came to us as a 7 month old pup when her owner's home was condemned. As just a pup, Stella was chained in a yard. After a month with us, she was adopted. Stella then came back to us after being found tied to a pole at a fire house. It is amazing the stories a microchip can tell. After several phone calls, it turns out the Stella was given up by her original adopter. They report that Stella did have serious resource guarding issues, but they felt that they were able to manage her behaviors. That home gave Stella away to another home. The second home that Stella had also experienced issues with her and gave her away to a third home. The third home allegedly tied her to a pole and left her with her belongings and a sign saying that she can't be in a home with kids. We agree. Stella needs a home with an experienced owner who will seek guidance in maintaining a plan for Stella, including clear rules and limited exposure to people without proper training and preparation. Stella has since been adopted and returned to us after being found incompatible with a home that had guests in and out. Stella does have a bite history and any future adopter will need to be interviewed by our staff and the shelter director. Stella is energetic and loves to play fetch. She can catch treats on the fly. Stella has been friendly and social at the shelter.
