1073 Banjo's Story

Banjo is fostered in Waukesha WI

Introducing Banjo! This ADORABLE little male Australian Shepherd and Dachshund mix was born on 1/23/2026. He and his littermates will be ready to head to their forever homes AFTER 3/20/26. Momma is a red merle standard Australian Shepherd with just the sweetest personality, easy going temperament and just delightful. Momma weighs 40lbs at 2 years old so is a bit of a smaller standard Aussie as well. Daddy was one of three Dachshunds in the home so we just don't know which one. We imagine full grown they will be between 20 -40 lbs.

Banjo is smart, brave, curious and inquisitive. Banjo is potty training already!

Aussie pups need to be socialized with the world around them once adopted or they can become guard dogs and protective of their people and spaces. They need to be exposed to various types of stimuli at a young age and it needs to be continued throughout their lives. If you have never had an Aussie or a working dog before, we recommend doing a little research before committing to this high energy working breed! He will need a MINIMUM of 2-3 hours of exercise throughout the day. He is also way too young to be home alone.

Banjo is dewormed, microchipped, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations and now receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.
