0816 Trooper's Story
Trooper is fostered in Spring Grove IL

Meet Trooper who is one of the sweetest pups with a heart full of zoomies and snuggles! Trooper is a 12 lbs male toy male black tri Australian Shepherd. He was born 01/24/2017. He was surrendered by a breeder and didn't seem to have the best care there. He was adopted by an older couple and unfortunately through no fault of his own, he is back in rescue. His adopted owner has some significant medical issues and he is back in our care.

Trooper has been an absolute gem with the resident dogs in his foster home. He is respectful and slow to engage, but has integrated well into the foster home's little pack of toy aussies. Trooper is social, friendly, and loves a good romp in the yard. Running in his foster home's fenced backyard is his favorite pastime, but once he gets his energy out, he's all about the cuddles.

This handsome boy is fully potty trained and has made great progress with leash walking. He's also a crate enthusiast — in fact, he loves it so much that we sometimes have to coax him out! It's his safe space, especially during thunderstorms, when he's a little nervous but finds comfort in curling up inside. We recommend a physically fenced yard and no toddlers in his adoptive home. Trooper is the total package: fun, affectionate, and well-mannered. He's ready to bring joy, love, and a bit of goofy charm to his forever home. Is that you?

Trooper is neutered, has received a dental, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for current or prior pets is required to adopt from our rescue. For more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.
