Meet ZORO

ZORO was a stray who luckily found a kind lady who feeds the strays in her area. She fed ZORO quite a while until he and his buddy, Gentleman Jim, trusted her and would hang out in her yard, greeting her every morning to get food and some loving. The lady felt both ZORO and Gentleman Jim were so sweet they must have had homes before they ended up on the street. She worried about these two sweet cats surviving the cold weather. Although she couldn't take them in, she wanted the best for them. She brought them to the shelter in hope that they find a new home.
ZORO is a handsome boy with a thick, white coat with a few black and grey highlights. The "eyeliner" around his eyes kind of looks like a mask, hence the name ZORO.
Having lived on the streets, ZORO was a bit unsure of shelter life and was very timid. He would hide in a box in his room, trying to go unnoticed by cats and people. Fortunately, the kind lady came in to visit the "boys" and showed us how to win ZORO over. He responds to a soft voice, a slow approach, soft petting, and chin and neck scratches. He likes his tummy gently rubbed and pushes his head against your hand when you stop, to gently ask for more loving. Once he is comfortable with you, he will rub against your legs for attention. He also rubs against your legs as you try to walk!
ZORO is still shy and is not a fan of a loud noisy environment, and he is still quiet and watchful in his present situation.
ZORO is fine with other cats, so he'd be ok in a home with another cat, as long as that cat is not aggressive. We know he and Gentleman Jim are friends and would be happy to find a home together, but they do not seem to be bonded, so would do fine apart. We do not know his opinion of dogs or children. However, given his dislike of chaos, he would likely find a hidey hole and disappear until the noise and upheaval was gone, which might set back any progress he'd made to being his best self in his new home.
ZORO needs to find someone who understands that he needs time to trust yet another new and hopefully last situation. He is a sweet, laid-back cat who needs someone willing to work to gain his trust. Once that happens, his true, loving personality will shine!!
