Will (working cat) *Adoption fee Sponsored*'s Story
Will (originally named after a certain tough-guy vibe, long before we were able to check her gender) is a no-nonsense working cat who prefers her job to any kind of social life. Independent to the core, she’s all about patrol routes, pest control, and keeping her distance from well-meaning humans. Affection isn’t on her schedule—but give her space, respect her rules, and she’ll quietly keep everything running exactly as it should.

Working cats are a safe, inexpensive way to control the rodent population while providing a home for a cat that cannot be adopted out to an indoor home because they are not socialized to humans. **NoVa Cats Advocacy will cover adoption fees of any working cats at the Clarke County Humane Foundation, AND provide transport within a 1-hour distance of Berryville, VA.**

WHAT YOU SUPPLY: Working cats need to be supplied with fresh water, food and straw or other warm shelter daily. They require a minimum of 30 days crated in their final "office" in order to acclimate to the area. (More info about care in link below.)

WHAT SHELTER SUPPLIES: All working cat pairs are neutered/spayed, ear tipped, and microchipped, and are up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines.
More info about acclimating and caring for barn cats here: https://loveyourferalfelines.com/feral-barn-cats

Working cats may be housed off the adoption floor to reduce their stress levels; please ask a staff person to meet them.
