Whitney's Story

Meet Whitney!

Whitney is a stunning tortie girl under a year old with a story as strong as her personality. She was found all alone at just about 4 weeks old, tucked into a pile of clothes inside a condemned building in Detroit. Since then, she’s been loved, spoiled, and affectionately nicknamed “Bean” or “Beanie” by her foster family—and now she’s ready to find her forever home.

Fair warning: the infamous tortitude is alive and well here. Whitney is spunky, a little spicy, and endlessly playful. She’s always on the move, ready to pounce on toys, chase anything that dares wiggle, and keep you entertained with her big personality. She’s also extremely food-motivated and never says no to treats—especially Churu, which she considers a top-tier life experience.

Whitney has made it very clear that she does not want to share her kingdom with other cats. Multiple introductions to cats of different ages and sizes have been attempted, and she’s just not interested. Interestingly enough, she does enjoy playing with the 90-lb dog in her foster home. She does not like small dogs, proving she’s full of surprises

Whitney would do best as the only cat in a home that can give her lots of attention, enrichment, and interactive playtime. She’s bold, entertaining, and full of personality—perfect for someone who loves a confident, spirited cat with a little extra sass.

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind tortie who will keep life exciting, Whitney might just be your girl.

Whitney is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
