Vivian's Story

Vivian came to Cameron Animal Rescue from a neglect situation. She was very scared when she first arrived, and it has taken her time to get used to people. She has overcome much of her fear and we have gotten to know the true Vivian - friendly, affectionate, silly, and opinionated. She is looking for a forever home that understands her and will let her adjust slowly.

Vivian is friendly with people, and likes being pet, but she does not like being held or restrained - she will climb in your lap and sit and cuddle, but she does not like being picked up. She enjoys being brushed, especially if she can rub against the comb, but does not like being held with both hands for a full comb out. She has a wonderful creaky meow, and talks frequently, asking for food or petting. She enjoys playing with spring toys or stuffed mice that she can bat around, but she is generally a calm cat. She tolerates other cats as long as they generally leave her alone; she does not like energetic cats that try to play with her. She also tolerates older, calm dogs that leave her alone, but does not like younger dogs who try to interact. She will do best in a quiet home, without young/energetic children.

Vivian is currently healthy. She has tear staining around her eyes, which is normal for her breed, and which must be cleaned on a daily basis. She is FeLV/FIV negative and feline bartonella negative. She has had her full series of 3 FVRCP (distemper) and Rabies vaccines. She has been fecal tested and fully dewormed. She is spayed and microchipped. Her adoption includes 30 days of free pet insurance. Because persian cats can experience a variety of breed related health issues, we are looking for experienced adopters who have an extensive prior veterinary reference.

Vivian has made great progress since her arrival and she will thrive with a family who appreciates her for her beautiful, quirky, opinioned self, and gives her the time and patience she needs to feel comfortable and continue to progress.

Email CAHadoptions@gmail.com for more information.

*Please note that an extensive prior veterinary reference is required. Although out of state adopters will be considered, first priority will be given to adopters from the northern NJ/NYC area.
