Velvet's Story

Velvet is a 7 year old girl, friendly and talktative. A pretty tuxedo with one white eyebrow, she is a bit on large side as she loves her chow. She loves to play with catnip toys and dangly wiggly toys. She loves to eat, and will be reminding you when it's mealtime. She loves the canned food and only nibbles at the kibble. She loves treats. She is very investigative, and you'll find her in your cabinets checking them out. She loves to nap on towels. At night she will be right at your side, suggled up to your legs and purring.

Velvet would prefer to be an only cat. She gets along with the foster's cats, but would be happy without other companionship. She was concerned about the young children who visit, but is friendly with adults. Unknown with dogs.

Velvet is eating a prescription urinary food and is on an anti-anxiety medication. Any adopter should plan to continue both, under the guidance of their veterinarian.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Adult cats have an adoption fee of $150. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.
