Meet Emergency Checkers needs a home/foster! Losing foster home!
Hello, this sweet boy needs a home, or even a foster home urgently!
This sweet little man was rescued from the streets of Newark.
We are trying very hard to get him into a foster home to get him out of a cage!
Since he has FELV, he can only be with other FELV positive kitties or dogs (however, we don't know how he would do with a dog, he may like them! Never know!) he is very sweet and craves attention.
FELV is not a death sentence. We have had many kitties go on to live many years.
Here is a bit of info on it if you are not familiar.

He is not sick, nor showing any symptoms and can be that way for many years!
A good diet of no by product foods and maybe simple supplement is all he needs!

Note from Chessy's current foster mom:
Chessy (also responds to Chubs and Chester) is one of the smartest and sweetest cats I've met! The video here was taken only minutes after I received him! Sometimes if my allergies are acting up, I close my door when I'm going to bed to prevent him from sleeping next to me or in my room, and as soon as I open the door, he'll come running up the stairs to greet me. I've also been able to teach him to sit on command, high-five me, to stand up on his hind legs, and to come when called. Chessy is also amazing at playing! I've never had to "let" him win a game of chasing the feather, probably because he's had to actually hunt for his own food :( But now he gets to eat twice a day, guaranteed! His favorite wet food type is chicken. You can also use dry kibble to train him to do tricks. He loves food!
I would have loved to adopt Chessy myself but unfortunately my school won't allow pets. I've been working from home this summer and he loves to snuggle against my leg while I work or lay next to my computer. He is the sweetest boy and I hope he goes to a great home.
This is a courtesy post!

Hey! I'm !
My full time job is being adorable! Just look at me! What else am I qualified for??
My part time job is warming up laps. I LOOVE LAPS! I would make a wonderful companion. I'm fine with cats, but I'm also ok with being your one and only.
I was found in Newark, NJ. Someone most likely left me behind because they didn't appreciate me. It happens..anyhoo......I am way too much of a sweet boy to live on the street. I am very grateful and happy my foster mom picked me up, rescued me from a sad life and brought me to a warm, loving home until I could find my forever home. I am content and no longer hungry now. I love my food! I get to eat everyday now!
He is up to date on shots, neutered, and tested positive FELV
Very healthy guy otheriwse!
