Meet Tyson
Tyson is a gentle giant. During the first few nights in his foster home, he opened up and became so confident that in the middle of the night he climbed in bed with his foster mom to cuddle in the pillows, and he slept happily all night!
He also loves to cuddle against the couch cushions and stay there all day. Loud noises don't scare him one bit - he is fearless and a lover.
He likes playing with string and wand toys and loves pets but gives love nibbles sometimes when he's very happy about the attention - he has big teeth, so they aren't the most gentle nibbles, but they don't hurt if you are used to cat nibbles!
CHARACTERISTICS: Calm / Chill / Mellow, Gentle, Quiet, Happy, Smart / Clever, Confident, Relaxed, Lovable, Gives Head Bumps, Likes Rubbing, Likes Being Scratched, Purrs A Lot / Always Purring, Can be held BUT on only own their terms, Particularly Food-motivated
In a human companion, I’m looking for: Someone to love on me all day and give me a comfy spot on the couch!
In an animal companion: Cats and dogs are fine as long as they give me my own space.
Lots of people say I: Love pets and to explore my surroundings . . . after my four-hour nap. :)
Despite my less-than-ideal start in life, I have flourished in FAN's care and am now: Feeling like a happy and cozy house cat!

It’s important to set reasonable expectations when bringing any new cat home. We offer the Rule of Threes.
3 DAYS: To decompress
3 WEEKS: To get familiar with your house and its routines
3 MONTHS: To settle in and feel like they’re home
Adding a new animal to your household can be a whirlwind of an experience for many owners. There is a lot of change happening for your new cat, so it’s not uncommon for the cat’s behavior to change accordingly. They may be acting in ways you’ve never seen before, and this can be discouraging.
These “rules” are estimated marker points where you may see behavioral changes from your new cat.
SEE https://www.feralaffairs.org/faq/ to learn how long it may take to acclimate your cat to their new home.
All our adoptable cats and kittens are:
— spayed / neutered
— vaccinated (rabies & FVRCP)
— microchipped, if they get lost (and found), they can easily be scanned and reunited with you!
— tested for FIV & FeLV diseases
— parasite-free (dewormer & flea prevention)
— provided additional veterinarian visits, if needed for any health issues
— conveyed to you with all medical records at time of adoption
