Tux's Story

A star at kitten yoga! One of six kittens, Tux is a striking, gorgeous tuxedo boy, oh so sweet and outgoing. Very playful and great with other cats, kittens and kids, he's an affectionate lover boy as well. Vetted, microchipped and available to meet at or after kittten yoga with Relay Active, or with his foster parents in Charlottesville. Please email megshrum@gmail.com with questions. The Adoption Process If you are ready to meet this feline please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10664/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match. The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about their likes, dislikes, and little quirks. The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you're ready to take the feline home as your furry forever friend, their adoption fee is $150.

Louisa Humane Society's Adoption Policy

If you are interested in meeting any our animals, please fill out an adoption application at www.louisahumanesociety.com, click on the “paw” for Adoption Application. or copy/paste the following link into your internet browser: http://louisahumanesociety.com/adoptionapplication.htm Once submitted, the vet reference you provided will be contacted (if no vet, please provide 3 personal references, may be family and friends as long as they have a dog that you interact with), and a volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. Once approved, you will be contacted by the foster parent to discuss the animal and arrange the logistics for a visit. Our rescue group does not have a brick and mortar facility, all our animals are home fostered in our volunteer’s houses. You will be visiting a private residence. The application does not oblige you to adopt, nor does the visitation; the application just gives us more info to help ensure a good match. Our policy is that we always take our animals back should it prove to be a less than perfect match, or if you are unable or unwilling to care for the animal any longer. We just don't want the animal to go back into the system.
