One of the professions extra busy now are Animal Control Officers. Their call volume is up, nuisance calls have increased because people are home more and more calls about abandoned animals. We are always happy to help these wonderful people when they have pets in need. Toulouse was picked up as a stray kitten Christmas week. Was he destined to make someone very happy and was lost or was he turned out? The department took him in and decided to keep him for several weeks because he was so very scared.

Sweet Toulouse came to us on 1/11 and now that his vet care is complete he is ready for adoption. He enjoys being petted in his big cage and plays with his toys. He is still nervous about being picked up and in his new home will need to start in 1 room until he is more confident. This will involve dedicated time several times a day to give him the best chance at being a social cat instead of a scared cat and a patient owner who is willing to keep helping him. This could be an adult's bedroom or an office.
He could be a good choice for gentle, patient teenage children. Toulouse would welcome life with another cat.

If a cat or kitten is listed on our website, that means that cat is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place by appointment. Our kitten adoption fee (cats up to 6 months old) is $200 for a single kitten or $350 for a pair. The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, microchip, testing for FeLV and spaying/neutering when old enough.
