Tommy Domestic Short Hair Mix Plano, TX

Tommy was in a car accident while on his way to find a forever home. He broke a bone in his spine and wasn't able to move his tail, defecate or urinate. He could barely move his back legs.

At this point, not only can Tommy fully use the litter box without assistance, he is running, climbing, jumping, and when he isn't being a distinguished gentleman (he does come with his own tuxedo after all), he enjoys playing with spring toys and chasing the kittens around the house! He will make use of pet stairs if they're available, just makes his life a little easier, but has no issues getting himself into all sorts of places just like any other cat even if his walk will probably always be a little funny. His favorite activity, however, is being able to curl up with or near his people. Tommy is good with other cats, but doesn't specifically need them around. He did allow the other foster cats to come say hi to him before he even had the chance to leave the carrier when he came into his foster home. He's a talker, but he's mostly quiet with chatting, he'll just politely tell you about his day or just let you know that he would like attention. For the most part though, he's really just a chill cat who wants to hang out with you!

We would love to find Tommy a home with someone who is comfortable with potential future expenses and continuing to monitor his litter box use. While we have seen nothing but continued progress after the accident, he still doesn't have full use of his tail and does walk on the back half of his legs instead of just his feet, so he can be a bit confusing to other cats at first.
