TOMMY*'s Story

Meet Tommy, the black kitten. Tommy arrived at the Shelter with his sibling Levi. Both kittens were found on a property where there were cats reproducing and having unplanned litters. The good Samaritan wanted to ensure the cats were safe and sound as well as get them spayed and neutered to prevent the cycle of reproduction from occurring. Tommy was a bit nervous when he first arrived but has relaxed now and is enjoying TLC from staff and volunteers. To keep him safe (as well as our local wildlife), Tommy would thrive as an indoor only kitty moving forward. He may enjoy a home with his friend Levi but is not required to be adopted with him. Tommy may do well in a home with other animals with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Tommy's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation's Leave No One Behind fund - a fund that draws adopter's eyes towards animals that have been waiting a little bit longer than average for the right adopters to come along and bring them home. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them
