Meet Tippy

Meet Tippy

Meet Tippy! A shy, yet affectionate little black cat with a story to tell. If you look closely at her ears, both are tipped, hence her name, Tippy. More importantly, this ID’ed her as part of the A. A. County pilot project that showed TNR to be a successful non-lethal method to control community cat population. Ultimately, this led to the passage of the TNR law.

Fast forward several years, her elderly caregiver passed away. So Tippy found and was accepted by a nearby colony of 14 cats. In short order, gregarious Tippy greeted her new caregivers with joy, rolling over on her back for tummy rubs and on occasion, jumping into the car trunk for head rubs. Then another sad event. Twelve of the colony cats died or disappeared within a year from poisoning of some sort, possibly rodent poisoning or anti freeze. Tippy and 2 very feral cats still remained. Because of Tippy’s very friendly nature, her caregivers scooped her up and brought her to CRU to find a new home.

Tippy is 8 years old now, still a bit timid, but she loves to be petted (see photos) and enjoys the company of other cats. Tippy’s ideal home would be a cat savvy person or couple who can help her settle into her new forever home.

She will need a quiet home, TLC and patience, but once she feels at home, we think she will blossom.

To learn more about this kitty, please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org or submit an adoption application online at https://catsrusrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application

All of our cats and kittens are rescues. They are mixed breed unless otherwise noted. If a cat or kitten is designated as a particular breed we do not have papers to verify the breed information. We assign breeds to our cats and kittens based on similar appearance, size, and temperament as described in the breed description of a purebred cat.

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens under 1 year (2 for $200), $100 for cats over 1 year (2 for $180), and $150 - $250 for exotic breed cats or kittens. We do not have our own spay/neuter clinic so the adoption fee we charge helps our rescue pay for a portion of vet fees incurred to prepare a cat or kitten for adoption. The adoption fee includes a wellness exam, spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV and FIV testing (negative/negative unless otherwise noted), treatment for parasites (fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, ear mites), microchipping, and in many cases, additional vet care.
