Teriyaki's Story

Meet Teriyaki!

If you are interested in Teriyaki and would like to arrange the meet and greet at fosters homes, please complete the adoption application using the following link (copy & paste it into your browser) https://form.jotform.com/82828565257166
or text us for more info at (908) 986-2505
Our cats and kittens are allowed to be adopted anywhere in NYC/NJ/Long Island.

This precious boy has so much personality, he could easily star in his own show! Sweet, affectionate, and absolutely comical — Teriyaki is the full package. At just 10–12 months old, he brings nothing but joy.

How did he end up with us? One of our volunteers spotted a new kitty on her camera while monitoring a feral colony she cares for. At first, she assumed he was feral since he didn’t have an ear tip (which usually means a fixed colony cat), so we asked her to trap him to get him neutered and vaccinated.

It was around midnight when he walked right into the trap. But the moment he was brought inside, everything changed — he flopped onto his back, purring, rolling, and asking for love. Clearly not feral.

After speaking with neighbors and reviewing footage, we learned the heartbreaking truth: Teriyaki was dumped. A truck that didn’t belong in the area was seen stopping nearby, and someone was caught on camera carrying a black garbage bag out… and returning empty-handed. That same night, Teriyaki appeared.

Despite that betrayal, Teriyaki hasn’t lost his loving spirit. He’s now neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped — fully ready for his forever home.

All he needs now is a family who will love and spoil him the way he deserves.
