Meet Sugar, whose nickname in her foster home is "sweets" because she is relaxed, gentle and very sweet. She loves to be petted especially her head, neck and behind her ears. She is quick to greet you and have a chat, as you can see in the second photo.
She is also quick to tell you what she wants whether it is food or petting, and even tries to grab you if you try to pull away. She is very smart and aware of surroundings. We have a large dog on the house that is very interested in Sugar and the dog is a little slow to learn personal space. Sugar knows at every moment where the dog is and fully takes advantage of when the coast is clear. She sleeps on and off during the day perched up high on her shelf, where she has a great view outside.
She is not very happy with other cats but would probably be OK with a dog who respects her space. She would be an excellent companion for a retired person or someone working from home as she likes lots of attention. She loves to follow you around talking very loudly.
At night she is more excitable and runs around checking out everything, but she doesn't keep her humans awake.
Sugar has mild asthma that is being successfully controlled with prednisone. There is a possibility that she will need to continue on medication for the long term. Her new family will need to monitor her food intake as cats tend to gain weight on this regime.
She is not destructive in any way and is very smart. She is even learning to sit for treats!
Sugar is affectionate and trusting of everyone she meets and would make a wonderful companion for a family prepared to give her lots of time and attention.
She is spayed, tattooed, microchipped, and up to date on worming and vaccinations.
