Meet Sterling
Sterling is a 1-2 year old medium-long haired dude with LOTS OF PERSONALITY!
Sterling is currently living in a foster home with a resident cat, and while the resident cat is shy, they tolerate each other and are often caught chillin on the same couch together!
While he just tolerates his foster brother, his true love is kittens! He has lived with them, and he was VERY content with them around. They really helped him come out of his shell at the beginning of his indoor journey. He played with them and groomed them all the time. He was a great foster dad!
Prior to his role as foster dad, Sterling was spending his days roaming the streets of Pittsburgh - specifically the streets with catnip plants! LOL He was found rolling around in his kind foster mom's front lawn, making the most of her cat friendly garden. His life changed the day she decided to trap him and bring him inside.
He is the most beautiful boy, with a beautiful soft gray coat. He loves his foster mom, and follows her all around the house. His favorite place to meet her is the kitchen! He quite literally enjoys any and ALL food and treats. Foster momma warns that he is oddly a HUGE fan of bread, so make sure you have a bread box to keep it safe! And he will snag a piece of food from your plate if you don't keep a good eye on it!
Sterling startles with loud noises, but bounces back quickly! His one experience with a dog did not go well, so it may not be ideal to house him with one! Unless you just never want to see him!
Sterling enjoys sitting at the door/window looking outside, but has never tried to escape. His days on the streets, rolling around in random catnip plants are behind him!
This very good boy has learned to use a scratching post, cardboard scratcher and cat tree with no issues. He really enjoys playing with wand toys, feather toys, crinkle balls and ball tower toys.
After a long day of playing, he enjoys getting pets and curling up on the couch or on a human’s lap to make everyone biscuits!! As SOON as he starts getting pets, his purr motor starts going.
We would love to see Sterling go into a home with a kitten friend, but he would do ok as an only cat, too. Just be prepared to play with him and share your pizza!
As a medium to long haired cat, Sterling should get brushed regularly. His foster mom is working on that with him, and it's getting better every day.
Sterling is neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FELV and microchipped.
