Snuggles's Story

Snuggles (once known as Wittle because she was so little) gave birth to kittens when she was approximately 8 months old. She would come and go from what we believe to be a fox cave in between the boulders in the woods. We know she had kittens at some point because when she was going to be spayed the vet noticed that she had been nursing kittens but was almost finished nursing. We never found her kittens. That summer, we had torrential rain storms in Warren County and we believe her kittens drowned, or were taken by predators.

Snuggles is cross-eyed but her vision does not appear to be impaired. She does not jump very high, but she can get up onto a chair and play with her feather toys and laser light. Her favorite thing is to sit in your lap and snuggle against you, even while you are working on your computer!

She is a quiet, calm cat but does not like other cats and must be the only cat in your home. She does not fight with the other cats, but she growls ad runs and hides.

She would be a perfect companion for someone who is home most of the day, She will take quite awhile to adjust to you and her environment. She is very happy and comfortable in her cage and roams free at night while the other cats are secured. She goes in and out of her cage, and we often find her sleeping in there during the night all on her own. She may be ok with an older child, but she does not like to be held (so far) unless she knows she will get some snuggle time!

Snuggles is approx. 3 years old, spayed, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, tested negative for FELV/FIV, and microchipped.

She is in the care of Communities Altering The Strays, Inc., in Belvidere, NJ, 908-453-0082.
