Snowball's Story
CONSIDERING TO ADOPT SNOWBALL WILL BE NO SMALL FEAT. READ HIS ENTIRE BIO BELOW:

Meet Snowball, a purebred Peka-Face Persian. He is a sweet and very resilient young guy who triumphed over a tough start in life. He's a sweet and playful soul, longing for a loving home, one he can finally call his own.

At two days old, Snowball was rescued from a HORRIBLE kitten mill situation, but his life at Critical Care Kitten Coalition, was great. . .until he was adopted.

Unbeknownst to us, Snowball has a severe fear of change and some severe feline dermatitis (allergies). Shortly after adoption, Snowball started showing signs of allergies, and since most regular veterinarians treat dermatitis with steroids, that’s what they did. Once he was weaned off of the steroids it would cause him to be worse than before he started.

Additionally, the adopter was changing anything and everything too help this sweet boy, but he only grew worse. (Remember at the beginning where I said he has an extreme fear of change? No one knew this and the change was constant in an effort to try and help him.)

After 12 months and several attempts at getting him healed, Snowball was returned to the Coalition in horrible condition. Plus, we discovered he had a new, and very serious fear of dogs. So much, in fact, that just the sound of one will send him hiding.

Upon his return, Snowball had a host of issues. It was clear he was not cared for properly; his dermatitis was exacerbated by medications, and he appeared to have not been groomed on a daily, which is required.

Since his return, Snowball sees a dermatologist to keep his allergies in check, but it was the discovery of his fear of change that his world changed for the better. Together, with the dermatologist, we started doing a slow intro to change through the assistance of a medication called Prozac.

One of the pictures attached to this profile was a split shot of the day her was surrendered back (you can't see it much, but his face was solid scabs). The second pic was taken only three months after halting any and all change is his little environment and two months after starting immunotherapy.

Snowball is a lovebug who was robbed of his kittenhood by allergies, and if his allergies are trying to come on, just as anyone who doesn't feel good, he becomes a bit snippy. Snowball may be high maintenance, but he is so sweet and simply GORGEOUS.

If human, Snowball would be considered OCD with allergies, but that shouldn't prevent him from finding his forever home.

Snowball’s ideal home would be one where he is the only fur-baby with understanding and responsible and clean adults. No dogs and No children.

IMPORTANT: The perspective adopter must be willing to come over on a regular so they can learn how to properly care for this loving and distinguished gentleman. Only those that DO **and** SHOW they have learned how to properly care for him, will be considered

Adoption Fee: $500

To meet any of our kitties, an Adoption application is required prior to making an appointment. You can download our Adoption Inquiry Application at https://CriticalCareKittenCoalition.org, then scroll down to Match-Making Application

NOTE: Normally there's a nonrefundable $30 per person ($50 for two or more) "meet" fee, which would be deducted from the adoption fee/s if there's a match, HOWEVER, in this special case the fee is $100 multiple days, if not weeks, of training is required.

This fee is not negotiable and due only if a meet-appointment is offered. The amount is to help our rescue while discouraging those just wanting to just come and play with kitties. (If you are just wanting to play with the kitties, you are welcome to complete our volunteer application, also found on our website)
