Skittles is a very friendly, lovable cat. He is initially timid and will hide when he’s brought to a new home, and will revisit his hiding spot when introduced to new people. He is afraid of the front door opening/closing and hides from guests, but once he meets someone several times he comes out to say hi. He doesn’t like being picked up or moved, but once he trusts you, he will put himself in your lap or on your chest. He is litterbox trained, prefers kibble and dry treats over wet, loves to chat, and knows his own name.

Skittles LOVES head scratchies and being brushed with a wire brush. His favorite toys are catnip-stuffed plushies and feathers. His favorite game is fetch and he will carry around whatever toy he wants you to throw (preferably hair ties) until you engage. His second favorite game is hiding under the bed until you walk by and pouncing on your feet. He bonds quickly and hard to 'his' people/person and never fails to show you how much he loves you once he does.

Skittles prefers to run the household, which could create issues with other animals who were there before him. Skittles would likely bloom if he were the only pet in the house or if there were a more submissive animal in the home. He can be mildly spicy at times and his triggers seem to be related to boredom/attention and presence of another animal. Sometimes if he feels like you haven't pet him enough or shown him as much attention as he wants he may get nippy, but this happens less and less as you get to know each other. Being around another animal can also put him on edge.

Overall Skittles is a very sweet cat who is perfect for someone with a quiet home and no other pets. Please consider making this handsome man part of your family!
