Meet Skittles<br/><br/>Skittles is a sleek and beautiful grey-and-white tabby girl with a playful personality and a serious love of snacks! Born in mid-May, she came into rescue with her littermates, who were all quite the spicy bunch. She has come a long way since then and continues to make progress every day as she learns to trust people.<br/><br/>Skittles is still very wary of being touched or held, but she’s beginning to discover that hanging out with her humans can be pretty nice. She’ll happily cuddle up next to you on the couch and enjoy some gentle petting—right up until she realizes, “Wait... YOU’RE touching me!” and suddenly she’s off! She’s making progress, though, and with patience and respect for her boundaries, she’ll hopefully continue to gain confidence.<br/><br/>Of course, there is one guaranteed way to get Skittles’ attention: TREATS. She absolutely loves Churu treats and freeze-dried minnows and is extremely treat motivated. If you’re sitting on the couch, don’t be surprised to look over and find Skittles silently staring at you, waiting for you to remember your duties as the Treat Dispenser.<br/><br/>She is very playful and enjoys having feline friends around. Skittles is good with other cats and can often be found cuddled up with the older male resident cat in her foster home. She is also good with dogs.<br/><br/>Skittles is still learning that hands and feet are not toys and can get a little carried away during play. Because of this, she would not be a good fit for a home with young children. She’ll do best with an understanding adopter who can give her appropriate outlets for her kitten energy while continuing to help her learn that human hands are for gentle interactions—not pouncing practice!<br/><br/>Skittles may need a little extra time and patience, but she is already showing us just how much progress she can make. She’s playful, treat-obsessed, cat-friendly, dog-friendly, and slowly discovering that people can be pretty wonderful too.<br/><br/>Skittles is looking for a patient home where she can keep building confidence, enjoy plenty of playtime and snacks, and continue her journey from spicy little kitten to beloved companion.<br/><br/><br/>--<br/>Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter and microchipping for all animals. Our adoption fee is $300 per cat.<br/><br/>All have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. All cats are tested for FeLV/FIV at six months of age.
