HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org.<br/><br/>---<br/><br/>- Gentle, shy, petite lady looking for a calm, peaceful home; has a lot of love to give and will be a wonderful companion for a quiet person or two who will allow her to settle in at her own pace <br/><br/>- A biscuit-making machine with the sweetest purr; when she feels safe she loves being petted<br/><br/>- Not into being on laps and prefers not to be picked up, but likes snuggling in bed and is very loving once you've gained her trust <br/><br/>- Young, noisy, active kids are too much for her, so she is looking for a more mature home<br/><br/>- Has lived with another cat and may enjoy a calm, laid-back cat friend<br/><br/>- It took several weeks for her to become comfortable with her foster family, so please plan on giving her a few weeks in her new home, too; we recommend starting her in one room and allowing her to become comfortable with that area before giving her access to the rest of the home; this will help set her up for success by not overwhelming her<br/><br/>- May have feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC), but has done very well in her quiet foster home and shows no signs of the condition there (more info at ARL) <br/><br/>- This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust.
