Romeo's Story

Hi, Im Romeo, a 1-year-old lynx point Siamese mix boy with a coat as intricate and beautiful as my mind is bright and active. I am a vibrant, intelligent, and deeply expressive cat who knows exactly what I want and I have a lot of ways to tell you my opinions.

I am affectionate, social, and very tuned in to my people. I love being involved in everything you do, and I will communicate constantly about what I like, what I do not like, what toys are my favorite, and when I want attention.

I truly feel like the world revolves around my human, and I cannot wait to find my special person who understands me and is ready for my affectionate self that lives up to my namesake.

I am also a high-energy, high-stimulation kitty, which means I need daily interactive play, puzzle toys, treat games, and enrichment to help my mind and body stay balanced. Wand toys are one of my favorite things, and I thrive when I have structure, engagement, and someone who enjoys participating in my busy, curious brain.

One important thing about me is that I am still learning how to communicate in the best ways. Sometimes I get overstimulated and may use love nips as part of my communication.

My friends at Happy Cats Haven have been working with me on this, and I am learning better ways to express myself. Because of this, I need a home that understands cat body language, respects boundaries, and is willing to gently redirect me rather than push past my limits.

I will do best in a calm, cat-experienced home where my person understands over stimulation and can help me succeed. I take time to settle into new environments, but once I feel safe and understood, I am incredibly affectionate, loyal, and interactive.

I haven't spent a lot of time with other animals but with a slow introduction, I think I may be great friends with a cat friendly dog or cat who is nice but not pushy and likes to play!

If you are someone who enjoys deep bonds with a cat who is expressive, intelligent, and full of personality, I think we might be meant for each other.

I can be adopted for $200 which includes my neuter, vaccinations, microchip, food and litter starter kit, and a free well-kitty checkup to help you get started.

You can tap here to fill out an Adoption Application: https://happycatshaven.org/adoption-application/ and someone should get back to you during our adoption hours Wednesday Sunday by 5 pm to set up a visit. If you need to contact someone more quickly, please call 719-362-4600 and well do our best to get back to you within 48 hours. I can't wait to meet you!

Happy Cats Haven's Adoption Policy
You are always welcome to come meet our cats and kittens! Filling out an Adoption Application beforehand will save time. Our basic requirements are that all cats be kept inside, except when supervised or outside on a leash (we offer help with leash training!) or in an enclosed catio. We don't support declawing, which is actually amputating toes and can lead to far greater pain and issues than keeping their paws intact. We do support proper training for scratching, from kittens to adults, and will help you choose the equipment your cat likes best. We require a copy of the lease agreement that authorizes cats so that no one is heartbroken later if the cat is not allowed. Bringing that in when you come to meet the cats will also speed up the process. Over 55% of our adoptions go to family and friends, so we always offer our Buddy Discount to bonded pairs or kittens, with the second one at half off. Kittens thrive when they go home with a sibling, so we give preference to pair (or triplet or quadruplet!) adoptions. We also recommend kittens of at least 4 months to families with children under 5, for the safety of the children as well as the kitten. With an approved application, a cat can be held up to 48 hours with a $50 deposit (sometimes longer in special cases). This deposit isn't refundable but is transferable to another cat if needed.
