Meet Rex! Rex is a beautiful black kitten with an extra soft and sleek black coat. He and his four siblings got a heroic start in life when some wonderful Heartland supporters spotted them outside and gave them a safe place to land. After getting some love and pampering in their finder's care, they made their way to us, spent time blossoming in a fantastic foster home, and are now officially back at the shelter! They've had quite the journey, but these beautiful babies are ready for a quiet home that will allow them to come out of their shells at their own pace. <br/><br/>Here is what their foster mom has to say about him:<br/><br/>"In foster care, he has made great progress. <br/><br/>Once he is comfortable with his person, he loves to be pet. All over --especially his butt rubbed and his belly -- don't forget his ears, head and neck! He will give big purrs. He seems to really learned to trust people and enjoy the attention and love he received. <br/>When he is done, he will just move away. <br/><br/>Really likes cat trees and tunnels -- toys brought him out of his shyness. Loves to chase the laser light, play with the teasing wands, play with springs and mice and really likes to amuse himself with the ball towers. <br/><br/>He is used to having videos on or music. <br/><br/>He will need extra love and time to get to his loving kitty stage with his new person -- maybe put him in a small room and spend time with him there before giving him the whole house. <br/><br/>He loves churro treats and will eat them off of your finger -- he will not bite your finger when you are giving him the treat." <br/><br/>Rex is neutered and up to date on FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations.<br/><br/>Rex is currently staying onsite at our Heartland Facility! Stop by during our open hours on Thursday 4pm-7pm, Friday 4pm-7pm, Saturday Noon-6pm or Sunday Noon-6pm to meet him! No appointment necessary.
