Meet Reva. Yes, Reva. Like Teva with an R. And with those extra toes, somebody get this girl some sandals.<br/><br/>Listen, we work fast. We cannot always be expected to produce award-winning cat names, particularly when we think the cat is going right back outside after TNR. Reva was supposed to be one of those cats: get spayed, recover, go back out. She just needed a name for the paperwork.<br/><br/>Then Reva informed us that she is, in fact, extremely friendly and would prefer indoor housing, thank you very much.<br/><br/>And we're very glad she did, because this sweet girl has already done enough outside.<br/><br/>When Reva came to us, she had mastitis, a painful inflammation or infection of the mammary glands that can happen to nursing mothers. Which means that before she landed here, this tiny, sweet, absurdly polydactyl girl was outside trying to keep her babies fed while dealing with a painful medical condition herself.<br/><br/>She did her job. She kept her babies fed. Now she gets to be done.<br/><br/>Reva has been treated and is doing well, and at an estimated 2 to 3 years old, we would very much like the rest of her life to be considerably less difficult than the first few years apparently were.<br/><br/>And then, obviously, there are THE FEET.<br/><br/>Reva is polydactyl, with spectacular extra toes on her front paws that give her the appearance of having tiny thumbs. They are ridiculous. They are excellent. They are arguably the strongest thing the name Reva has going for it.<br/><br/>Personality-wise, she's an incredibly sweet, laid-back girl. She seems comfortable around other cats, although any resident cats would still need a proper introduction. We don't know how she feels about dogs. Given her easygoing personality, we think she could also do well with respectful children who understand that cats are friends, not interactive toys.<br/><br/>Reva is spayed, healthy, and FIV/FeLV negative.<br/><br/>She lived outside, became a mother, fed her babies through mastitis, got scooped up for what was supposed to be a routine TNR, and then casually revealed that she had been a house-cat candidate all along.<br/><br/>It's time for Reva to stay inside, kick back those giant fancy feet, and discover that from now on, somebody else is responsible for dinner.
