REBA*'s Story
Meet Reba, the gray tabby. Reba came to the Shelter from a property where there were cats reproducing and having unplanned litters. The good Samaritan wanted to ensure the cats were safe and sound as well as get them spayed and neutered to prevent the cycle of reproduction from occurring. Reba was a bit nervous when she first arrived at the Shelter but is slowly warming up to staff and volunteers. She may do well in a home with other animals with a slow, thoughtful introduction. To keep her safe (as well as our local wildlife), Reba would thrive as an indoor only kitty moving forward. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
