Raven & Jack Fruit's Story

Meet Raven & Jack Fruit — Not littermates, but true soulmates.

Raven (2 years old) is a sleek, stunning little panther with the most knowing eyes. Jack Fruit (1 year old) is a handsome tabby with bold stripes and an endearingly goofy charm. Their bond was built through shared hardship, and it’s one we are absolutely committed to keeping intact.

We came from a hoarding situation, so patience will be key as we adjust to a new home. New environments can feel overwhelming at first—but with time, consistency, and love, we truly blossom. More than anything, we’re just looking for a place where we can finally feel safe.

Raven here — I’m the brave one. The explorer. The big sister and protector. I love climbing tall cat trees (extra points if it’s by a sunny window—I will supervise the neighborhood). I show my affection with head boops and by weaving around your legs like a pro. I like to know what’s going on at all times, and I take my role as Jack Fruit’s confidence coach very seriously.

And me, Jack Fruit… I’m still a bit shy, but I’m getting braver every day—especially when it comes to playtime. I’ve even started playing independently without Raven sometimes! Deep down, I’m just a total goober—awkward, excited to be your friend, but not always sure what to do with all those feelings yet.

Once I feel safe, though? I’m incredibly sweet and affectionate. I’ll join you on the couch, lean into your pets, and quietly soak up all the love. I just need someone who understands that trust takes time—and that I’m absolutely worth it.

We’re both good with other cats and calm dogs, but we’d prefer a home without young children (older, respectful kids are okay). Most importantly, we need to stay together. Raven gives me courage, and I give her devotion. We balance each other perfectly.

We’re really just looking for someone special—someone patient, kind, and willing to help us check that there are no monsters under the bed. Once we know we’re safe, our true personalities shine.

If you have a calm home, a cozy spot by the window, and a heart big enough for two deeply bonded souls, we’re ready to begin our next chapter—together.

Raven & Jack Fruit are currently at our PetSmart location on Telegraph. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
